The Catalan fashion cluster participated this week in Vilnius (Lithuania) in the international meeting of the European project Just Fashion, which works to accelerate the sustainable transition of the fashion sector in Europe. The project promotes tools, methodologies and new models to help companies evolve towards a more circular, resilient and socially inclusive industry.

The city of Vilnius, recognized for its dynamism in the field of creative industries and innovation, became the setting for a meeting that reinforces the international dimension of the project and the collaboration between European territories.

The meeting, held on May 11 and 12 at the Vilnius Tech University, brought together European organizations linked to innovation, research, the textile industry and sustainability policies. At a key moment in the development of the project, the partners have shared progress, experiences and learnings from the different pilots that are being developed in several European countries. MODACC is working, together with Eurecat and Boboli, to evaluate the integration of post-consumer recycled textiles in the product, the complete traceability of the garments and the improvement of textile collection in physical stores.

The main objective of Just Fashion is to strengthen the capacity of small and medium-sized companies in the fashion sector to adapt to the new environmental, social and regulatory challenges arising from the European Green Pact and the transformation of the global market.

Strategic issues linked to sustainable business models, climate transition, circularity or the identification of risks in supply chains were addressed during the work sessions. The meeting also focused on the need to generate shared knowledge and replicable solutions that can have a real impact on the European fashion ecosystem.

The project has 20 entities participating in the project, including technology centers, universities, clusters and groups; as well as companies: University of Antwerp, University for the Creative Arts, Euro Crowd, Vilnus Tech, Eurada, Art-Er, Materahub, Eurecat, Flanders District of Creativity, Fashion Council Germany, Macedonia Fashion Association, Adral, Luisa Cercano, Waanz.in, Boboli, Bastet Noir, Xandres, Staff Jersey and the European Fashion Alliance. With its participation in Just Fashion, MODACC consolidates its position in European initiatives aimed at promoting a more sustainable, competitive and prepared fashion for the challenges of the future.
